8.0 Booked the King room. The lobby was very nice looking and clean. I had no issue checking in. The clerk was forward, dry, but nice. The room was very clean. I actually think the room looks better in person than the online pictures. The bed and pillows were nice and comfy. The room has a nice scent. The furniture don’t look cheap. Bathrooms were nice. The towels are folded uniquely. Overall this hotel was well though out and put together. Versus the other hotels around the area(except Holiday Inn) they can’t compete. This Hotel is exceptional! I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast. Next time I will. Cons: No room ice holder, No refrigerator, Ice machine is on the 5th floor, No hotel parking(only street), No tooth paste or tooth brush, the bed is pretty low for a tall person.

10 Overall, we had a great stay! The hotel was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. When we ran into a minor hiccup - a lack of hot water at 10 pm- the staff were quick to get it back up and running. Our first night we were on the second floor and woke up to loud construction, too. However, Justine and the other staff members went above and beyond to help make our stay more comfortable for the remainder of our trip! The staff members were incredible! Just a side note, be prepared for simplicity in your breakfast options. They offered cereal, pastries, boiled eggs, bagels, and waffles. For the price, location near the subway, and overall comfort of the hotel- we were very pleased!

8.0 Nice hotel in a neighborhood that is being revitalized. The hotel appears to be about one years old (as of April 2018). Drawbacks were the brown striped carpeting which made the interior of the room look dark. The glass enclosed shower made it difficult to turn on the water without getting cold water splashed, and the hot and cold water took a few minutes to regulate to a comfortable temperature. The hotel was next to a low income hotel called the Verve, I didn't experience any negatives from that. Most of the block has houses in disrepair, but hopefully the area gets revitalized. The hotel had a nice little sitting area on the lower level to enjoy take out food, or just relax. There is no gym for those who like to work out. The staff is super friendly and accommodating.

10 There are no words to describe how fantastic this hotel is!! Everything was very neat and clean. They have free razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and a couple other things in case you forget them which is great for travelers! The complimentary breakfast was delicious, though I will say by the end of 7 days in a row of eating the same thing, I did want some variety. The breakfast hit all the main food points with bread, yogurt, cereal, pastries, hard-boiled eggs, and juice. My only real complaint is that the juice was too watery. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; more so than I ever would have expected. One of the front desk staff members helped look up pharmacies for me when I needed to find a product after I got sunburned. Any other items that were requested were sent up to the room as soon as we asked. One of my favorite things was that the employee who cleaned my room made sure to set my stuffed animal up nicely on the pillows every day. :) In the lobby there was always a big container of cold lemon water which was fantastic, because water fountains are hard to find in New York. The biggest issue I had while staying here was that I couldn't figure out how the thermostat worked. I tried everything I could think of but it stayed the same temperature. They also held my bags before I checked in and after I checked out so I wasn't tied down with them. Overall, it was a fantastic experience especially considering it was a very reasonable price.
Solid, clean place. I was surprised that not much noise from outside gets in, considering how close the hotel is to the train (very convenient for taking the N/W). However, noise between rooms does travel. Wasn’t too bad. The room was nice, nicely done sheets, plenty of towels, nice little closet and coffee maker. No microwave or mini-fridge, which was a bummer. The morning breakfast is pretty pitiful: coffee, tea, boxed orange juice, plastic fruit cups, yogurt. Service is kind and responsive, but mask wearing was spotty even though the front door says “you must wear a mask to enter.” However, all that said, it’s a very affordable place to stay and is solid for the price.

10 It was a good hotel. No weird stains. There was an ice machine which was nice. I wish there was a tub, but it was the cheapest hotel with 4+ stars so I’m not complaining. There are more expensive hotels that are worse. The sheets were clean, the amenities were modern, check-in was easy. I had a problem with cancellation, called the front desk, and they took care of it easily. Look, I’m not picky. Sure, the breakfast might not be a lot. Who cares lol. It’s a good hotel room with no problems. If it’s too cold set it higher and wait a little, run the shower if you have to heat it up. It’s good.

10 I saw some negative comments about this hotel, and I was afraid about it, however I had a great experience at the Microtel. Highlights: - I dropped off my baggage at the hotel before the check in. That was a big deal for me! - Clean spaces - Large and comfortable bed - Refrigerator in the bedroom - Location next to the subway station (5 minutes walking) - Easy check-in and check out The neighborhood looks nice, I walked at night and didn’t have any problems. About the breakfast, there were just coffee, tea, hot water, juice, yogurt, cereal bars, muffins and canned fruits. So, the breakfast could be better.
